As winter approaches, Richland School District Two is preparing for its new season of Choice. The district will host a Virtual Choice Fair featuring Magnet Programs that will provide families information on schools and centers. The Virtual Choice Fair is Dec. 1, 2020, for elementary schools and Dec. 2, 2020, for middle and high schools from 5-7 p.m. each day.
During this Virtual Choice Fair, students and parents will learn about schools and programs in a Virtual Exhibition Hall and have access to videos and brochures on each school. There will also be a virtual auditorium featuring district programs and partners such as R2i2 (Richland Two Institute of Innovation), R2eSchool and the Richland Two AVID Early College. An informational video on how to navigate the online application will also be available. To register for the Virtual Choice Fair, visit https://rsd2choice.vfairs.com/
In Richland Two, students have the opportunity to learn in schools beyond their residentially zoned school. Through the Choice program, they may apply to attend another school or magnet program within the district. Parents may apply electronically each December or May for placement that will take effect the following school year. Only students residentially zoned for Richland Two are eligible to apply and participate. Parents and/or guardians must provide transportation for all Choice options.
The Choice I application window opens Dec. 14, 2020 and closes Jan. 27, 2021. Families may apply online at www.richland2.org/choice
