Roc’s Burgers in Clinton to Open Friday January 20

January 16, 2023

Owners Robert “Roc” and Evie Knight are excited to announce that Roc’s Burgers will open to the public on January 20. Initial hours of operation will be 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. They are located at 28098 Hwy 76 in Clinton (in the corner of the shopping center that is home to the Hospice Thrift Store and across from Renfro Distribution Center). They are a take out and drive through only establishment. The number to call and place your order in advance is 864-547-1345.

Originally from Laurens Roc moved to Clinton in 1990 where he lived for 20 years before moving to Newberry County in 2010.

“I remember when Red’s Burger Masters was open and Big Chick, and I really miss those old school places, said Roc Knight. “We are opening Roc’s Burgers to bring back that old school best ever hamburger.”

The hamburgers at Roc’s will rival those of the good ole days, made fresh daily with 100% beef patties and dressed with other fresh toppings.

Roc’s love of cooking is a plus for family members and now the local community. He has always done the cooking for family outings and trips and enjoys cooking barbecue.

This isn’t his first experience in the restaurant business. He learned a lot about restaurants in earlier years when he built and remodeled several.  Roc also ran the Joanna Grill for a while in 2016 and was personally responsible for returning the name back to Joanna Grill from Kippy’s Grill.

“I really enjoy seeing the smiles that good food can put on someones face and hearing that they have enjoyed the food I prepared for them,” said Roc. “I’ve always said that people eat with their eyes first so make the food look good and also taste good.”

Roc’s Burgers will serve 100% fresh 80/20 beef that will be hand-pressed every day and all other ingredients will be sliced fresh daily. The chili will be 100% all beef from his own recipe with no additives or preservatives.

Roc’s Burgers is a take-out only establishment with a drive through window and walk-in service. If you are looking for a good hamburger, hot dog, or barbecue sandwich swing by and pick up lunch or dinner.
