Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston receives $65,000 from the Bishop Gadsden Charitable Fund to replace HVAC systems.

July 17, 2020

Through the generous support of the Bishop Gadsden Charitable Fund, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston (RMHC Charleston) was able to replace six HVAC systems to better cool and heat the 32 bedroom House.

The Fund, described as the heart and soul of the philanthropic ministry at Bishop Gadsden, assists their residents in need of financial assistance, as well as supports outreach efforts, selected by the residents, to the greater Charleston community.

RMHC Charleston was one of six nonprofits to receive large grants this year, and these funds covered the entire cost of replacing the new HVAC systems.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston opened its doors 36 years ago as a “Home-away-from-home” where families stay while their children undergo extensive medical treatment. Here, parents and children lead a life as normal as possible during their traumatic times without the financial burden of costly hotel, meal, and travel expenses. Our home offers these families’ comfortable beds, hot meals, a caring staff, and a four-legged friend, Gardy, all just steps from the hospital.
