Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Carolinas announces Lights of Love Campaign

Be a Light of Hope for Families This Holiday Season

Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) of the Carolinas is pleased to announce its first annual Lights of Love campaign presented by Brite Lite Décor. The campaign is created to raise awareness for the hundreds of families the House serves each year by keeping them close to their critically ill or sick child.

“COVID-19 has drastically changed the landscape of today’s world and everyday life. The families we assist day in and day out, are already dealing with a critically ill or injured child and to add the stress and worry of a global pandemic on top of that creates a very difficult situation,” said Marti Spencer, Executive Director/CEO of RMHC® of the Carolinas. “Lights of Love is an amazing opportunity for our donors to rally behind us as it is a true symbol of hope they are providing our families.”

Every day, there are families traveling to Greenville area hospitals for their critically ill or injured child facing, in most cases, a great deal of uncertainty. RMHC of the Carolinas believes that when a child is sick, the entire family needs comfort and support. The Ronald McDonald House is a beacon of light for families because they are able to stay together and near the medical care they need.

The campaign officially kicked off on November 1st. Individuals can visit https://rmhc-carolinas.org/lights-of-love/ to make a donation to “Be A Light, Cover A Night.” Donors can choose different levels of giving to cover families’ nights of stay and can, in return, receive a yard sign to display their support. On Thursday, November 19th, the Ronald McDonald House, located at 706 Grove Road Greenville, S.C., will light up in honor, in memory or in support of its families and serve as a beacon of hope as the families stand strong by their child’s side. On opening night, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the House welcomes its generous community to drive through the lit up House and enjoy a winter wonderland complete with Santa.

Corporate sponsors of Lights of Love include Brite Lite Décor, McDonald’s, AVX, King Hickory, BuildMasters, Lima One Capital, and Grace Outdoor. These sponsors serve as a light of hope for families traveling to Greenville area hospitals with a critically ill or injured child. About RMHC® of the Carolinas

RMHC of the Carolinas’ mission is to keep families with critically ill or injured children close to each other and the care and resources they need in our community; while providing a home filled with hope, encouragement and comfort. We find and support programs that directly improve the health and wellbeing of children. Since 1989, the Chapter has provided support to more than 12,000 families through the Ronald McDonald House program. More than a room, the House serves as a quiet place for families to be alone or as a place of companionship, sharing and emotional support with other families who are also caring for a sick child being treated at nearby medical facilities.
