Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas serves up inaugural Pickleball Palooza

July 6, 2026

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Carolinas announced its inaugural Pickleball Palooza, a family-friendly community celebration benefiting local families served by the House. The event will take place on Friday, July 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Pickle Yard in Mauldin.

Admission is free and open to the public, and guests of all ages are invited to enjoy a festive summer atmosphere featuring pickleball, line dancing, golf simulators, yard games, volleyball, music, food, and plenty of opportunities to connect with friends, family, and neighbors. Whether competing on the courts, cheering on participants, or simply enjoying a night out with the community, attendees can expect a fun-filled celebration that brings people together while supporting RMHC of the Carolinas’ mission of providing comfort, care, and resources to families with hospitalized children.

“Keeping families close is at the heart of everything we do,” said Marti Spencer, Executive Director of RMHC of the Carolinas. “When a child is hospitalized, families shouldn’t have to worry about where they’ll sleep or how they’ll stay near their loved one. Events like Pickleball Palooza bring our community together in a fun and engaging way while directly supporting families right here in Greenville during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. We’re grateful for the partnership with The Pickle Yard and for everyone who helps us ensure families can focus on their child’s care and healing.”

Community members and businesses are encouraged to get involved in a variety of ways. Tournament teams of two are available for $75 and must be registered in advance, with each team receiving limited-edition RMHC of the Carolinas x The Pickle Yard t-shirts. Sponsorships are available for $500 and include digital and print recognition, two tournament teams, and four event t-shirts. Those who prefer to support off the court can volunteer at the event or attend with family and friends and help spread awareness on social media.

“At The Pickle Yard, we’re all about bringing people together through community, connection, and family,” said Jim Canavos, Co-Founder and COO of The Pickle Yard. “When Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas approached us about partnering on this event, it was an easy yes. We love teaming up with organizations that are making a difference in our community, and keeping families close during a child’s medical crisis is a mission we are proud to support. Giving back is a big part of who we are, and the Pickleball Palooza reflects what The Pickle Yard is all about—creating a place where everyone can come together, have fun, build connections, and support a great cause.”

Whether participants are seasoned pickleball players, first-time spectators, or simply looking for a fun summer evening with family and friends, Pickleball Palooza offers something for everyone. From friendly competition and outdoor games to music, food, and opportunities to connect with neighbors, the event is designed to celebrate community while making a meaningful impact. Guests are encouraged to come together, enjoy the festivities, and help ensure families facing a child’s medical crisis can stay close to the care—and each other- when they need most.
