Rosenblum Coe Architects names Steve Coe as Chief Executive Officer succeeding Jeffrey Rosenblum after 43 years of Leadership

 

CHARLESTON, SC – Rosenblum Coe Architects announced that Steven Coe, president and 23-year experienced architect, has taken over as sole owner of the Charleston-based architectural firm. Coe succeeds his business partner and founder, Jeffrey Rosenblum, FAIA, in this role after 43 years of leadership. Rosenblum will continue with the firm using his many years of experience and expertise in overall consulting, guidance, quality control, and coordination of projects.

The lead architect of the award-winning firm, Coe became a partner in 2001, guiding the design and creation of numerous projects including the recently completed Harbor View Elementary School, MUSC College of Nursing Renovation and the City of Charleston Fire Department Headquarters Station No. 9. Under Coe’s guidance, the firm has received three awards from the Fire Industry Equipment Research Organization (FIERO), including the recent 2014 Honor Award for the design of Fire Station 9.

A recognized leader in creating efficient and environmentally friendly facilities, Rosenblum Coe has designed projects certified by the USGBC’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building standards and is currently completing a project following the Green Globe’s certification criteria. Designing for both private and public clients they have specific experience designing for fire departments, school districts, state agencies and local municipalities.

The firm’s current projects include: College of Charleston Rita Hollings Science Center, City of North Charleston Fire Station No. 2, College of Charleston Jewish Studies Center, and Hilton Head Island “Sea Pines” Fire Station No. 2.

Coe graduated from Clemson University with a Master’s degree in Architecture before coming to the firm in 1993. Honored as “Architect of the Year” twice by the Charleston Contractor’s Association, Coe is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including two Aurora Awards for custom residences, a Carolopolis Award from the Preservation Society of Charleston and an AIA Charleston/Business Journal Lowcountry Design Award. He is an active member of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and served as the state association’s president in 2009.
