Rotarians bought an ambulance for Ukraine!

Rotarians in District 7770 of South Carolina purchased and delivered a fully stocked Mercedes Benz ambulance for the people of Ukraine.

A Rotary Club in New Jersey found a contact for purchasing a good used ambulance in Germany. Rotarians in Germany mechanically check out the vehicle, provide medical and firefighting supplies to fill the ambulance. That’s when the Rotarians in South Carolina got busy. At the Rotary Conference in Myrtle Beach in March Rotarians donated over $27,000 to purchase the ambulance.

Rotary District Governor Bob Gross from Beaufort, SC and Past District Governor David Forward from New Jersey flew to Germany, picked up the ambulance and drove it across Germany and Poland to the Ukraine border.

Rotarians in Lviv, Ukraine determined where the ambulance was needed the most and drove it to the front-line cities where it was put to good use saving lives.

Rotarians working together delivered hope from South Carolina to Ukraine.
