October 25, 2023

Join Us in Honoring 100 Years of Rotary’s Dedication to Laurens

The Rotary Club of Laurens, is extending an invitation to all community members to join in celebrating their remarkable milestone – 100 Years of Service in Laurens. In a world that has seen incredible changes over the past century, one thing has remained steadfast – the club’s unwavering compassion and dedication to making a positive impact in Laurens and beyond.

A Legacy of Global and Local Impact

Rotary International has been instrumental in global efforts to eradicate the Polio virus through its POLIO PLUS initiative. Locally, the Rotary Club of Laurens, in collaboration with neighboring clubs, has played a pivotal role in providing safe and clean water sources to over 20 villages in Honduras. Moreover, on a weekly basis throughout the school year, the club packs over 50 bags of food to send home with children in need. Their partnership with School District 55 has helped fund Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, recognize the top 10 students from each class at Laurens District 55 High School annually, and provide reading volunteers to young children through the Rotary Readers Program.

These are just a glimpse of the contributions made by the Rotary Club of Laurens as part of their commitment to giving back to the community. In the centenary year, the club is redoubling its efforts to increase its presence in the community, educate people about the essence of Rotary, and expand its membership. The goal is to continue serving the people of Laurens in even more impactful and meaningful ways in the future.
