Runge Named Associate Executive Director of Liberty Fellowship

July 28, 2014

GREENVILLE, SC – Liberty Fellowship is pleased to announce Luanne Runge is joining the organization as Associate Executive Director. A Fellow from the Class of 2009, Runge comes to Liberty Fellowship from the Gallivan, White & Boyd law firm where she is a shareholder, practicing in the areas of business litigation, healthcare and malpractice. Runge will focus on Fellow selection – interviewing nominees and building each class mosaic – as well as strategy and planning for the three Fellow seminars hosted by Liberty Fellowship annually.

“Luanne is a game changer. We knew that when she was selected for our fourth class, and we are beyond delighted to have her working with us as we move our focus to strategic impact on challenges facing South Carolina,” said Jennie Johnson, Liberty Fellowship Executive Director.

With the number of Fellows approaching 250, the Liberty Fellows are achieving their strategic intent of nurturing a network of diverse leaders who are committed to civil discourse and collaboration. By strengthening individual leadership capacity, Fellows are equipped to tackle issues while setting aside differences and breaking down silos that have traditionally impacted progress in South Carolina.

“When you bring together leaders of differing backgrounds and thought processes, and they learn to work together for the good of the state, the potential impact to everyone living here is real and tangible,” commented Runge. “To tell you I’m excited about joining in that effort full-time is an understatement.”

In addition to her business and legal acumen, Runge is known for spearheading community efforts and has been recognized for her significant impact in this arena. She is Immediate Past Chair of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Greenville Chamber Foundation, and Vice Chair and Founding Member of the Greenville County Schools Foundation. She serves on a number of other local and statewide boards. The Greenville Chamber awarded Runge the Chairman’s Award for Leadership and Commitment to Chamber and Community in 2006, and the Greenville YWCA selected her for their Women of Achievement Award in 2012.
