S.C. State Fair has record number of exhibitors compete in 2016 competitions

October 26, 2016 (Columbia, SC) – The South Carolina State Fair is excited to announce a record number of exhibitors competed at this year’s fair – 3,829 total!

The fair received 17,545 entries this year and awarded $300,000+ in premiums. A variety of new competitions including a 4-H/FFA Meat Goat Show, Youth Showmanship Contests for Rabbits, and a Youth Lego Building Contest were added to competition offerings. In addition to premiums, $14,500 was awarded in livestock scholarships.

“We’re thrilled to have so many new and returning exhibitors sharing their best work at the fair,” said South Carolina State Fair General Manager, Gary Goodman. “Our patrons love seeing the variety of entries from fine art and photography to agriculture and livestock. We hope this trend continue as we start planning for 2017.”

The official call for entry registrations for the 2017 South Carolina State Fair is scheduled for July 1 – September 1, 2017.  If you have questions or need additional information, please contact us at [email protected].

The 2017 South Carolina State Fair runs from October 11 – 22 at the Fairgrounds on Rosewood Drive and George Rogers Blvd. in Columbia.
