Sadler Hughes Apothecary Relocating and Expanding

August 31, 2020

Sadler Hughes Apothecary has been serving the community for 103 years.  During that time, the pharmacy has been in five different locations including its current location of 216 South Broad Street where the store moved to in 1969 under the ownership of Rufus Sadler, Jr.

“The pharmacy profession has changed dramatically since 1969 and the need for a larger space has become necessary to support our loyal and growing customer base and expanded services,” said Walter Hughes, Jr., Owner and President.

The new location, 102 Jacobs Highway, was selected for its ease of access and ability to accommodate a 5,400 square foot facility compared to the current location with a footprint of only 2,400 square feet.  Construction on the new facility is estimated to be complete in late October with the store’s opening slated for late November pending board inspections.

So how will things change?

The new location will have 2 drive through windows, easy access parking lot, a classroom for educational sessions, 2 clinical rooms for counseling and vaccinations, and an expanded retail space to accommodate new lines of product.  The pharmacy will also have an expanded medical equipment line and locally produced products.

“Personalized service and building relationships with our customers has always been a priority,” said Walter Hughes, III, Director of Business Development.  “We’re looking forward to continuing to serve the Clinton community from the new location with expanded services and conveniences.”
