SAFE Federal Credit Union promotes Wayne Keels to Vice President of Continuous Improvement and Project Management

SAFE Federal Credit Union announced the promotion of Wayne Keels to Vice President of Continuous Improvement and Project Management.

“Wayne Keels has brought tremendous value to SAFE by streamlining our processes and introducing new products—all to enhance our members’ experience,” said President and CEO Michael Baker. “This well-earned promotion allows him to continue moving SAFE forward as a leader among financial institutions in the Midlands.”

Keels’ career in project management began more than 20 years ago and includes prior service at Motorola, Allstate, and Discover Financial Services. He joined SAFE in 2018 as its Director of Continuous Improvement and was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Continuous Improvement and Project Management in 2021.

“I’m looking forward to advancing SAFE’s project portfolio while also nurturing a progressive culture that’s driven by data,” said Keels. “I’ll be using key performance indicators and business intelligence to support organization-wide improvements for SAFE and its members.”

Keels holds an MS in Computer Science from Purdue University and an MBA in Marketing and Project Management from DeVry University. His continuous improvement and project management expertise includes strategy execution, systems integration, and lean six sigma.
