Saint Frances Animal Center names Dr. Zach Marshall as Director of Development and Communication
April 19, 2026Saint Frances Animal Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Zach Marshall as its new Director of Development and Communication. In this role, Dr. Marshall will oversee the center’s fundraising initiatives, community engagement, and strategic communications to support the organization’s mission of providing care and finding homes for animals in need.
Dr. Marshall joins Saint Frances with a deep background in non-profit leadership and community outreach within the Georgetown area. He previously served as the Branch Executive Director for the Tidelands Health Georgetown YMCA and as the Community Outreach Director for Teach My People. He also currently serves as the Director of Ministries for Surfside United Methodist Church.
“We are thrilled to welcome Zach to our leadership team,” said Mindy Tiner, Executive Director of Saint Frances. “His extensive experience in community building and his personal connection to our mission make him an ideal fit as we continue to grow our support systems for the animals of Georgetown County.”
Before transitioning into the non-profit sector, Dr. Marshall enjoyed a distinguished career as a university professor and church musician. His academic appointments included faculty positions at East Tennessee State University, Bethany College, Eastern Kentucky University, and Kilgore College.
A highly accomplished scholar, Dr. Marshall holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in voice performance with a minor in music history from the University of South Carolina. He also earned a Master of Music from the University of Tennessee and a Bachelor of Music from East Tennessee State University.
Dr. Marshall resides in Georgetown with his wife, Dr. Jennifer Marshall, and their two children, Georgia and Callum. The Marshall family has a personal tie to Saint Frances, having adopted their family dog, Bonnie, from the center in December 2023.
