Samuel Young, M.D., MBA, CPE, joins First Choice VIP Care Plus as Medical Director

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – First Choice VIP Care Plus announced that Samuel Young, M.D., MBA, CPE has joined the health plan as medical director. He will report to Jay Powell, vice president of Medicare for South Carolina. First Choice VIP Care Plus is a Medicare-Medicaid Plan (MMP) for individuals who are dually-eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, offered by Select Health of South Carolina and part of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies.
Board certified in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Young comes to First Choice VIP Care Plus with more than 10 years of health care administration, private practice, and academic experience. Most recently, he served as medical director at UnitedHealthcare in Jacksonville, Fla., where he was Employee & Individual Spine team lead and neighborhood Health Partnership lead medical director.
