Sarah Jarosz to play the Peace Center April 1

February 7, 2017

Singer-songwriter and 2017 Grammy® Award-nominee Sarah Jarosz will play the Peace Center on Saturday, April 1, at 8 p.m.

Sarah Jarosz has earned her credibility in the world where contemporary folk, Americana and roots music intersect. Her reputation is built on three fronts – she is a gifted multi-instrumentalist (mandolin, octave mandolin, guitar and banjo), an expressive and distinctive vocalist, and an accomplished songwriter.

A frequent guest on A Prairie Home Companion, Jarosz has appeared on Austin City Limits, the BBC’s Transatlantic Sessions, Conan and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. She has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and several Americana Music Association Awards.

Jarosz’s fourth and latest album, Undercurrent, features 11 original songs and has been nominated for a 2017 Grammy Award for Best Folk Album. That album follows Song Up In Her Head (2009), Follow Me Down (2011) and Build Me Up from Bones (2013).

Jarosz has been described by The New York Times as “one of acoustic music’s most promising young talents: a singer-songwriter and mandolin and banjo prodigy with the taste and poise to strike that rare balance of commercial and critical success.”
