SC Festival of Flowers Announce Chair and Co-Chair for 2024

January 28, 2024

The SC Festival of Flowers is pleased to announce that Jessica Garcia of Self Regional Healthcare Foundation is Chair for their 57th year. Cady Nell Keener of Greenwood Genetic Center will be her Co-Chair.

“It is hard to explain how honored and excited I am to have the opportunity to Chair the South Carolina Festival of Flowers for 2024,” said Garcia. “The Festival holds such a dear place in my childhood memories, and I never thought I would have this privilege. As a young girl, I remember highlighting all the events I wanted to go to over the weekend and spending that time together as a family. It brought us together in a way that made me love where I live. My biggest hope is that the Festival continues to bring families from this area and further together to experience the beauty of nature, culture, quality of life, and the reminder that even a small town can make a big impact.”

In addition, the Festival is thrilled to announce a second year of partnering with Wesley Commons as the presenting sponsor. “With their generous support, we look forward to a festival full of fun family activities, arts and crafts, and, of course, our signature topiaries. This Festival would not be possible without the support of our amazing sponsors,” said Trentsie Williams, President & CEO of Greenwood SC Chamber of Commerce

The city’s horticultural staff are busy as bees working their magic on the topiaries and have even developed a new one. You and your family will surely be surprised and delighted by all that you see.

With our fan-favorite events returning, everyone can look forward to our main weekend of June 6-9. Kicking off the festivities will be the Ladies Luncheon on Wednesday, June 5. Also returning will be an expanded Juried Arts & Crafts Show, the family-loved Kidfest, the Flower Power 5k Fun Run, and enchanting new spaces to explore on the Garden Tours. Wrapping up that Saturday will be the always sold-out Topiaries, Tasting & Tunes. Our Bee Buzzin’ Bike Tour and 3rd Annual Garden Symposium will be the following weekend, on June 15.

With over 20 events taking place in June, co-chair Cady Nell Keener wants people to know how important volunteers are to the success of the Festival. “The SC Festival of Flowers is a community-wide effort led by energetic committee chairs and volunteers. There are opportunities for all community members to be part of the Festival by volunteering, attending events, or strolling Uptown to see the topiaries. We hope to see you and your family there! I am excited to meet “Gene,” the Greenwood Genetic Center’s new topiary being introduced this year.”

“I am so thankful for the amazing group of volunteers that work tirelessly to pull this Festival off,” said Garcia. “We have fun, work hard and become one big family! We can’t wait to show you all we have in store for 2024, so come see what the buzz is about!!”
