SC Hispanic Chamber Announces New Micro-Loan Program for Hispanic Entrepreneurs

December 1, 2014

GREENVILLE, SC – The South Carolina Hispanic Chamber of Commerce announced Axeso, a new micro-loan program for Hispanic entrepreneurs, at the Chamber’s annual ¡Impacto! Awards event last Thursday in Greenville. Axeso will be the first program of its kind in South Carolina.

Made possible by a partnership with CommunityWorks Carolina, the program will loan up to $1,000 at competitive interest rates. While certain details of the loan program are still in development, most of the loans will be made with a maximum of a one year payback term.

Axeso is set to begin accepting applicants in the first quarter of 2015 and will include a built-in mentorship component to provide Hispanic entrepreneurs in South Carolina with an increased level of guidance as they start their businesses.
“The SCHCC is dedicated to seeing Hispanic businesses grow in South Carolina,” said Gustavo Nieves, SCHCC Director of Government Affairs. “We are excited to be able to offer this loan program directly to our Hispanic businesses who are in such great need of access to capital.”
