SC State returns to University Center of Greenville

August 13, 2019

Students in the Upstate of South Carolina now have the option to take SC State’s undergraduate and graduate courses at the University Center of Greenville (UCG). SC State returns to the center for the upcoming fall semester and will continue to expand its program offerings at the center.  The semester begins on August 20.

Current programs being offered at UCG are:

  • Bachelor of Science in management degree,
  • education specialist degree and
  • Doctor of Education degree.

SC State’s management program is designed to provide students with a well-rounded understanding of the operation and management of a business enterprise.

The education program purposes to produce effective performers, reflective decision-makers and humanistic practitioners.

UCG was established to conveniently bring bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs from some of the state’s most highly ranked universities, to greater Greenville area residents and working professionals. According to the center’s website, its mission is “to advance the access and attainment of higher education degrees for the benefit of the citizens and economic community of greater Greenville, South Carolina.”

SC State’s return to UCG aligns with its objective to expand its partnerships. Moreover, the university intends to reach more students and prospective students in South Carolina’s Upstate. In January of this year, academic officials from SC State and the South Carolina Technical College System signed an agreement that gives students from all of the state’s technical colleges, including Greenville Technical College, access to SC State’s bachelor’s degree programs.

SC State joins other member institutions at UCG, including the University of South Carolina and Clemson University. Graduates will receive their diplomas from the institution of their degree program.
