SC Superheroes in Motion 5K and 1-mile event returns to Conestee Park this Saturday

September 2, 2026

Runners, walkers, and wheelchair rollers will lace up and suit up this weekend as the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association hosts the SC Superheroes in Motion Walk, Run & Roll 5K at Conestee Park on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026.

The annual inclusive, superhero-themed event invites community members of all ages and athletic abilities to participate in either a 5K or a family-friendly 1-mile fun course. Beyond encouraging fitness and community fun, the gathering serves as a major awareness and fundraising campaign to support individuals living with spinal cord injuries across South Carolina.

The event will be staged at Conestee Park, located at 840 Mauldin Road in Greenville. Morning check-in and packet pickup open at 9 a.m., followed by the 5K start at 10 a.m. and the 1-mile start at 10:15 a.m. Participants and spectators can also stop by early, as Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck will be on-site from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. serving warm and iced beverages before the races begin.

Participants are encouraged to lean into the theme and wear their favorite superhero costumes, capes, and colors. Thanks to Conestee Park’s paved pathways, the course is fully accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and handcycles.

Aid stations and finish-line refueling will feature strong community support, with the U.S. Army supplying water, Whole Foods Market providing fresh fruit and snacks, and Target of Simpsonville contributing additional race-day refreshments.

Registration proceeds and donations directly benefit the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association, supporting peer mentorship, adaptive equipment resources, and outreach programs statewide.
