SC Telco Federal Credit Union Awards Scholarships

COLUMBIA, SC – SC Telco Federal Credit Union has named Kate Brady of Wren High School, Ashley Collins of Hannah-Pamplico High School and Cassidy Tallman of Daniel High School as winners of $3,000 Louis C. Addison Memorial Scholarships for 2015 to support their pursuit of a college degree.

Honorees are selected annually from a pool of applicants across South Carolina. To qualify, applicants must be a graduating high school senior or an individual currently accepted to higher education, must be a member of SC Telco Federal Credit Union in good standing, and must provide a completed application, references and essay.

Ms. Brady is a resident of Williamston and a graduating senior at Wren High School in Piedmont who intends to attend Harvard University in the Fall. She is a member of Beta Club, National Honor Society, Concert Choir, and multi-year letterman in both track and cross country at Wren, where she also serves as Student Body President and Valedictorian of her class. She has been selected to Junior Leadership Anderson and is Anderson County’s Star Student in English. She is the daughter of Ray and Becky Brady.

Ms. Collins is the daughter of Stephen and Mary Ann Collins and a resident of Pamplico. A graduating senior at Hannah-Pamplico High School, she intends to attend the College of Charleston in the Fall where she will study secondary education with emphasis in English. She is a multi-year member of the National Honor Society and on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, a member of the Rhythmic Raiders Choral Group, a volunteer at Pamplico Public Library and active in the Florence Little Theater.

Ms. Tallman is a graduating senior at Daniel High School in Central with plans to attend Winthrop University in the Fall to pursue studies to become a Teacher or Media Specialist. An AP Scholar, member of the Beta Club and a participant in Duke University’s TIP Talent program, Ms. Tallman is active in community theater, is a Bible class teacher at her church, a member of Daniel’s Glee Club and an athlete on the high school track and field team. She also has served as art Editor of Daniel’s Roar Literary Magazine and as a school library teacher’s assistant. The daughter of Amanda Menefee and Jeffrey Tallman, she resides in Central.
