ScanSource receives One in a Million Award in recognition of response to COVID-19 crisis

National campaign from Multiplying Good recognizes acts of service big and small
ScanSource, Inc. (Nasdaq: SCSC), a leading provider of technology products and solutions, today announced it is a recipient of a One in a Million Award from the nonprofit organization Multiplying Good. ScanSource received the award in honor of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, repurposing a production line at one of the company’s facilities to produce protective face shields for front line healthcare workers as they treated and cared for their patients.
In April, the operations staff at California-based POS Portal, a ScanSource company, procured supplies and completed a prototype face shield, which was then evaluated by medical professionals at UC Davis Medical Center. Once approved, the team began production and distributed thousands of shields to UC Davis, as well as numerous regional companies with essential workers in the communities in which ScanSource has offices.
“When we began this initiative, we never expected to receive any type of recognition for our work,” said Gus Constancio, Vice President of Operations, POS Portal, a ScanSource company. “Part of the POS Portal and ScanSource culture is to support the communities in which we live and work, and we always look to meet every challenge with a creative solution. There is no better way to support the businesses we serve than to keep them safe by protecting those on the front lines. We’re honored to have received this award, and hope that we inspire others to make an impact in their communities.”
