September 15, 2007

LEXINGTON, SC – South Carolina Bank and Trust held the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Lexington office at 5109 Sunset Boulevard on September 13, 2007.

The ribbon-cutting was jointly hosted with the Lexington Chamber and included live music, door prizes and appetizers.

We held our soft opening on August 6th and new customer traffic has been much better than expected, said Brent Mackie, Lexington city executive.  I think this is due in part to a great location near Target and a great team.  We have not had a slow day the entire month of August.”

The new 4,800 square foot full-service branch offers checking and savings, mortgage lending, consumer and commercial lending, and investment and trust services. Harriett Feltner is the branch manager.   Jim Bryant provides mortgage services, and Sean Campbell provides trust and investment services.  Brent Mackie will provide commercial lending and Wealth Management services.

Previously, SCBT was located across the street in the Palmetto Plaza, which opened denovo in June of 2006.   In just a year, this office has experienced strong growth in both deposits and loans.   In a recent market growth study, Lexington was included as one of the fastest growing areas in the southeast.   While the southeast was growing at a rate of 9.36%, these growth markets were increasing at a rate of 10.74%.
