SCE&G to be presented with Historic Preservation Corporate Stewardship Award

COLUMBIA, SC – March 25, 2009 – The Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation has chosen SCE&G to receive its 2009 Historic Preservation Corporate Stewardship Award for the Tree House Site excavation project.

The Tree House dig was initiated by SCE&G as part of its Saluda Hydro application for a new operating license. More than 150 archaeological sites were identified over 85 miles of shoreline and 125 islands. Twenty-two of these sites are eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.

The stewardship award will be presented March 26 during a luncheon ceremony at the Marriot Hotel in Columbia, S.C.
