SCE&G to begin controlled burns at Lake Murray

February 14, 2009

SCE&G conducts the burns annually to reduce undesirable ground litter and underbrush, according to Tommy Boozer, who oversees the company’s lake management program.

The controlled burns are under the regulation and approval of the S.C. Forestry Commission and performed under the direct supervision of SCE&G registered foresters who hold approved prescribed fire managers licenses.
