COLUMBIA, SC – SCHB Self Insurers Fund was recently honored by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for their efforts to advance safety in the home building industry. Through the SAFE (Safety Awards for Excellence) Awards, NAHB recognizes the achievements of builders and trade contractors who have developed and implemented high quality construction safety plans. At this year’s ceremony, SCHB Self Insurers Fund received the Associate Member Safety Program of the Year Award.

SCHB Self Insurers Fund provides workers compensation insurance including risk control and safety services to over 1,100 builders, contractors and subcontractors in South Carolina. The organization makes a special effort to advance safety measures by providing training to individual companies, offering regional seminars and providing onsite safety surveys.

“We are pleased that NAHB has recognized our commitment to jobsite safety,” stated Danny Dilworth, Risk Control Safety Manager for SCHB Self Insurers Fund. “Our clients’ well-being is always our main focus, and we strive to eliminate onsite accidents through training and by educating our policyholders.”

Last year, SCHB Self Insurers Fund held over 20 regional safety seminars regarding the “Focus Four” hazards which are falls, electrical, struck-by and caught-in hazards. The group also offers the seminars in Spanish on an as-needed basis to make sure all workers are informed of possible worksite dangers.
