SCMA now accepting applications for annual Safety Award

The South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance, South Carolina OSHA and the South Carolina National Safety Council will host the 2017 South Carolina Safety Summit at The Marriott in Spartanburg, South Carolina March 14-16. If you are a manufacturer and would like to apply for the safety award that will be given during the Plant Safety Award Ceremony during the Summit, the deadline is Friday, February 17th. Facilities with a low rate of incidents resulting in lost workdays, job transfers or restrictions are nominated for recognition at this annual event.

New this year, SCMA and the South Carolina State Association of Occupational Health Nurses in conjunction with Mid Carolina AHEC is offering a Nurse’s tract. Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. is an approved provider of continuing education by the South Carolina Nurses Association, and as an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission of Accreditation. Selected topics have been submitted for approval of Continuing Education Credits for Nurses; with the goal of enhancing the practice of professional Occupational Environmental Nurses in delivering quality health care services to the workforce across the Palmetto State. As in the past, the OSHA10 Course will be offered as well as breakout sessions. Our event will conclude with our Safety Awards Ceremony.
