Scofflaw Brewing Co. Founder Pledges Over $50,000 in Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina

Scofflaw Brewing Co. has pledged over $50,000 for the hospitality industry relief donations through partnerships with the Giving Kitchen and Bottleshare in Georgia, KultureCity in Alabama, and the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association. Through each partnership, Scofflaw is committed to supporting hospitality service workers in need of financial assistance due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

“Now more than ever, leaders in the alcohol and beverage industry should be doing anything they can to support hospitality industry employees, including our own. These folks have made this industry and Scofflaw what it is today, yet they face the most difficult circumstances imaginable.” says Scofflaw Brewing Co. founder, Matthew Shirah.

Scofflaw has partnered with the Giving Kitchen and Bottleshare to create two “Scofflaw Matched”, GoFundMe donation pages. These pages can be reached by following the links HERE and HERE. In addition to Scofflaw’s charitable matching campaigns, Shirah will donate $10,000 in Publix and Kroger gift cards to various organizations, who has been distributing them to grant recipients. In South Carolina, Scofflaw is donating $20,000 to South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association which will be redistributed in the hospitality industry to grant recipients. In its 75th year, the SCRLA’s mission is to promote, protect and educate the foodservice and lodging industries of our state and to ensure positive business growth for our members.

“The situation is extremely difficult because of the uncertainty. At our brewery in Atlanta, we are dedicated to providing consistent work hours for our employees in addition to finding opportunities for those who were otherwise displaced.” says Shirah.

Scofflaw’s Atlanta Brewery remains open curbside at the 1738 MacArthur Rd. location where customers and supporters can purchase merchandise, gift cards, beer, hard seltzer and growlers to-go.

About Scofflaw Brewing

Created and operated by founders Matt Shirah and Travis Herman. Shirah, a former corporate turnaround executive, left behind a career in New York City to pursue his passion for craft beer in Atlanta. Herman was working in pharmaceuticals but departed to do the same. Herman attended brewing school at the University of California-Davis and later brewed for Lost Abbey and Russian River Brewing. The dream of owning a brewery originated in 2015 and began as a project in Shirah’s mother-in-law’s basement. Since inception, Scofflaw Brewing Co. Has been recognized by Beer Advocate, Craft Beer & Brewing and USA TODAY as one of the “Best New Craft Breweries in America,” and has continued to accumulate accolades such as “One of the Top 10 New Breweries in the World” by Rate Beer. The brewery working on its ninth expansion in under four years, continues to be one of the fastest growing breweries on the planet — all while pouring their extensive assortment of IPAs, led by the crowd favorite Basement IPA, and their newly launched line of hard seltzers.
