Scout’s Doughnuts Expansion Headed to Downtown Simpsonville

Downtown Simpsonville’s growing food and beverage scene is getting a sweet new addition. Scout’s Doughnuts, the popular Greenville-born bakery famous for its artisanal, croissant-style layered pastries, is officially opening a new location at Burdette Central.
The bakery will take up shop at 109 SE Main Street, moving in directly next door to 1885 Taproom.
The neighboring taproom shared the news on social media, expressing excitement for their new wall-mate:

From Running Group Rumors to 100-Layer Croissant Doughnuts
Founded by husband-and-wife duo Ryland and JP Rainsford, Scout’s Doughnuts started after Ryland routinely heard his running partners complain about the lack of gourmet local doughnuts in the Upstate. After a year of market research, recipe tweaking, and perfecting their dough technique, the couple launched the brand in early 2022.
Unlike traditional cake or yeast rings, Scout’s specializes in a labor-intensive, multi-layered doughnut. Over 100 layers of butter and dough are carefully laminated, cut into rings, and fried, creating a light, flaky pastry texture similar to a cronut.
The bakery rotates through dozens of custom flavor glazes and fillings throughout the year—ranging from classics like Boston Cream and Chocolate Sprinkles to creative seasonal rotations like Pink Lemonade, Morning Bun, and Citrus Cream.
A Growing Hub at Burdette Central
The arrival of Scout’s Doughnuts further cements Burdette Central as a central gathering point in downtown Simpsonville. Located along Main Street, the revitalized historic complex already hosts popular dining and social destinations like Sidewall Pizza Company, Mucho Gusto Tacos, and 1885 Taproom.
Organizers have not yet announced an official opening date for the Simpsonville location, advising locals to stay tuned for build-out updates and launch timeline details in the coming weeks.
