SCRA Announces Contract Extension with U.S. Department of Defense Joint Systems Integration Command (JSIC)

November 18, 2008

CHARLESTON, SC – November 18, 2008 – SCRA, a global leader in applied research and commercialization services, announces a prime contract extension on the Strategic Interoperability Solutions (SIS) program executed by SCRA with the JSIC, an arm of the U.S. Department of Defense’s Joint Forces Command.

The contract extension exercises its second year with a ceiling of more than $2,000,000. Leading the project team is SCRA’s Institute for Solutions Generation (ISG), which manages and executes interoperability-related Research and Development (R&D) activities and provides unbiased evaluations of existing and emerging command and control (C2) capabilities.

Interoperability assists in breaking down barriers between jurisdictions and organizations which further improves situational awareness and operations. SCRA supports DoD transformation, net-centric operations, and emerging C2 technologies. This improves the joint warfighters’ ability to plan and execute military operations.

“SCRA is very gratified by the JSIC extension,” said CEO Bill Mahoney. “JSIC’s exercise of the contract extension not only reinforces SCRA’s ability to develop long-term, mutually beneficial client relationships, it also reflects SCRA’s burgeoning core competency in interoperability, which continues to grow and benefit military and industrial clients worldwide.”
