More Than $3 Million Investment Creating 135 New Jobs

Sea Pro Boats, LLC, a saltwater fishing boat manufacturer, announced plans to expand operations in Fairfield County. The more than $3 million investment is expected to create 135 new jobs.

For more than 30 years, the company has manufactured center console fishing boats.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to expand operations into Fairfield County. As South Carolina Central Midlands natives ourselves, Jimmy Hancock and I are proud to be blessed with a growing business where we can provide jobs and opportunities to our friends and neighbors. Winnsboro felt like the right move for us to hopefully provide a little light to a community with the pride in which we build our boats. We hope that this expansion will provide another stake supporting the banner that South Carolina is THE state for global manufacturing,” said Sea Pro Boats, LLC Co-Owner Preston Wrenn.

The Fairfield County facility, located at 396 State Highway 34 East in Winnsboro, S.C., will be Sea Pro Boats, LLC’s second location in South Carolina. This new facility will add the production of larger center console boats, greater than 24 feet in length, to its product line.

The company’s expansion is expected to be completed by June 2020. Individuals interested in joining the Sea Pro Boats, LLC team should call Gallman Personnel Services, after January 2, 2020, at 803-772-8046.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to the project. A $1.25 million Rural Infrastructure Fund grant was also awarded to Fairfield County to assist with costs related to this project.
