Seabrook Island Club named SC golf Club of the Year

December 6, 2019
The Seabrook Island Club (SEAC) today announced that the Club has been named the 2019 Club of the Year by the South Carolina Golf Association (SCGA).
The decision-making committee was comprised of a group of SCGA board members and staff that took into account a club’s willingness to host championships, non-tournament events, and various initiatives to help grow the game of golf.
.
“This is an incredible honor for our Club and Seabrook Island as a whole,” said Caleb Elledge, general manager and chief operating officer, Seabrook Island Club. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our golf operations, golf maintenance, and food and beverage teams. We’re thrilled to receive this prestigious designation and look forward to continuing to grow the game of golf with the SCGA and being a place for avid golfers to call home for years to come.”

The Seabrook Island Club stood out to the committee as a Club that has a strong record of hosting SCGA Majors and South Carolina Junior Golf Association season-ending events, including most recently the 2017 SCGA Mid-Amateur Championship and the 2018 SCGA Senior Four-Ball Championship played on Ocean Winds and Crooked Oaks. The Club has also been home to the Hootie & the Blowfish Chapter program’s season finale, the Tommy Cuthbert All-Stars Championship since 2007.

The Seabrook Island Club is located within the first Audubon International Certified Sustainable Community in South Carolina, providing members and guests with high-end amenities in an undisturbed natural surrounding steps from the ocean.
