Seamless Transition in Fountain Inn: Steam Coffee & Cream Welcomes New Owners
June 17, 2026Downtown Fountain Inn is celebrating a smooth transition of ownership at one of its staple gathering spaces, ensuring that a favorite local spot for morning fuel and afternoon treats remains in local hands.
According to an official announcement from Steam Coffee & Cream, the business is being passed from “one mom-and-pop family to another.” The new ownership trio, identified as Emily, Logan, and Bennett, has officially taken the reins of the popular storefront.
From Real Estate to Coffee Roasts
The acquisition brings a unique professional background to the local café. The new proprietors are practicing real estate agents who joked that their career paths made a transition into the beverage industry a natural fit.
“No one spends more time in coffee shops than Realtors, so we figured it was time to make it official and own one ourselves,” the family shared in their announcement.
The move represents a deeply personal homecoming. One of the incoming owners noted that they grew up in the immediate Simpsonville and Fountain Inn area, watching the local community thrive over the years and welcoming the chance to be a direct part of its ongoing growth.
The new team also extended praise to former owners Erica and Chris for building the business and entrusting them with its legacy.
What’s Next for the Main Street Staple
While the family plans to inject their own style into the property over the coming weeks, they emphasize that the core character of the shop will remain unchanged. Patrons can still expect the same warm environment, familiar faces, and menu staples like coffee, tea, ice cream, pastries, and sandwiches.
However, the new owners highlighted several community-focused expansions slated for the near future:
-
Sourcing Locally: The shop will prioritize partnerships with neighboring Upstate businesses to source local products whenever possible.
-
Expanding Offerings: Plans are in motion to expand the cafe’s ice cream selection just in time for the summer months.
-
Job Creation: The growth of the business is expected to create new employment opportunities within the Fountain Inn area.
-
A Dual-Purpose Space: In addition to serving up lattes, the owners will continue helping clients buy and sell homes directly from their new coffee shop headquarters.
Plan Your Visit: Following a brief period for minor aesthetic upgrades, Steam Coffee & Cream is welcoming back customers under its standard operating hours of 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
