October 30, 2016

Vacation Myrtle Beach resort group teams with American Cancer Society for the event

The Vacation Myrtle Beach resort group is in its second year in a partnership with the American Cancer Society for the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Beach Walk on Saturday, November 5.  The beach walk is open to the public and participation is a $25 donation per person (children ages 12 and under walk free) to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides campaign; all survivors walk free.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the event will start at 9 a.m. with the beach walk set up as a 5K distance where participants will start and end at the Crown Reef Resort at 2913 S. Ocean Blvd. in Myrtle Beach.  Participants can park at Crown Reef Resort by 9 a.m. on November 5, and staff will direct them to the beach walk.

The fun will continue after the walk with a post-walk celebration featuring refreshments served by Loco Gecko, live DJ, photo booth, family-friendly activities, mascot appearance and more.

Cancer survivors who complete the walk will get a free t-shirt, while all participants who donate $25 or more will also receive an event t-shirt. Those who would like to register and fund-raise in advance may sign up here.

Vacation Myrtle Beach is offering a special Making Strides rate for visitors staying over the weekend where $5 from every reservation will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
