Second Community Planning Meeting for Holston Creek

Community Encouraged to Attend
SPARTANBURG, SC – November 1, 2011 – Having heard input from the surrounding community on September 27th, consultants Milone and MacBroom went to work. The opinions and desires of the Inman, Holly-Springs, Campobello, Landrum and Lyman communities have been developed into a proposed plan as part of the planning process. Spartanburg Parks is holding a second community planning meeting regarding Holston Creek Park on Tuesday, November 8th, at 7 P.M., at Campobello Gramling School. Holston Creek is a property in the Spartanburg Parks inventory that is located on New Cut Road. It is North of John Dodd Road close to Campobello and Landrum. Interest from the community at the last Holston Creek Park planning meeting included walking trails, camping, fishing, outdoor education opportunities, a playground soccer fields and baseball fields.

Dale Culbreth, Spartanburg County Councilman representing this area would like to hear from his constituents. “I am interested in hearing what people desire in Holston Creek Park. I hope that the community will come to the meeting and share their ideas.” There were approximately fifty community members at the previous meeting. It is hoped that more will attend the meeting on the 8th. “We will be providing residents a plan at the next meeting based on the input we received at the first meeting. We took into consideration what types of amenities the community was looking for and developed a master plan,” said Paul Mills with Milone MacBroom.
