COLUMBIA, SC – Security Federal Bank is pleased to announce that a groundbreaking ceremony was held on January, 15th for their newest branch in Irmo, S.C. The new location, scheduled for opening in mid-2015, is a full-service branch with a drive-thru and ATM and will be located at 1790 Dutch Fork Road, adjacent to Rauch-Mertz Road.

This branch will offer cutting-edge features and technology to include the ability to make deposits by ATM and also by a mobile device, Remote Deposit Anywhere. The new branch will be led by Branch Manager, Amanda Ballington and will also house a commercial lender, mortgage lender, mortgage processer, and three retail service associates. The retail service associates will open accounts, process lending requests and assist in banking transactions. Security Federal Bank’s new branch concept is to ensure efficiency while still providing exceptional customer service.

Richland County Councilman Bill Malinowski welcomed Security Federal Bank to District One during today’s groundbreaking ceremony. They are estimated to invest more than $1.3 million dollars in unincorporated Richland County. The bank will bring several new jobs to the Midlands, which will continue to progress Richland County’s economic growth.

“We are pleased that Security Federal Bank opened a new branch in Richland County and will be investing in our community. In December 2008, Richland County Council approved the re-zoning of the very property that the bank is building on, in anticipation of a bank utilizing this space in the future,” stated Bill Malinowski. Now, six years later, our planning practices made it possible for this bank to locate here.”
