Seminar to teach Warning Signs of Workplace Violence

COLUMBIA, SC – November 5, 2007 – “Workplace Violence Planning,” a lunchtime seminar specializing in succinct, easy-to-implement tips for preventing and handling workplace violence, will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, November 15 at the Vista Community Room in the Suggs & Kelly Building at 500 Taylor Street.

Designed to complement and build on awareness stemming from the Attorney General’s October 25 Domestic Violence Summit, this seminar will equip business leaders with the tools to confront and eliminate the root causes of workplace violence.

Highlights inlcude:

• Learning warning signs of potential violence

• Identifying risk factors for workplace violence

• Legal and ethical responsibilities of businesses

• Take-home security tips

• Skills for defusing potentially violent situations.
