Senator Danny Verdin Officially Submits Republican Candidacy Filing Paperwork, Running for Re-Election to State Senate

March 19, 2024

State Senator Danny Verdin – a local farmer, small businessman, Christian, conservative leader – on Saturday filed his official candidacy paperwork to be on the Republican primary ballot, and is seeking re-election to State Senate District 9.

“I have had the true honor of serving our community in the State Senate and fighting for commonsense, conservative principles. We are living in some crazy, radical times in which truth and right are portrayed as ‘out-of-touch.’ In times like these, we must fight harder than ever to ensure our shared values remain true in South Carolina,” Senator Danny Verdin said. “I have been at the forefront of the fight to keep South Carolina one of the greatest places in the world to live, work, and to raise a family, and I’m better positioned than ever before to make a positive impact for the people of Laurens, Greenville, and Union Counties in the State Senate. Kim and I are grateful to the people of District 9 for their continued support, their prayers, and their vote.”

In a released video, shared on his campaign website, www.DannyVerdin.com, Verdin highlights his conservative record and why he is seeking re-election to the State Senate. Additionally, the website highlights the issues that Senator Danny Verdin is fighting for in Columbia.

Senator Danny Verdin is a life-long resident of South Carolina. He is married to Kimberlee “Kim” Owens and together they have been blessed with four children and eight grandchildren. Verdin is a small business owner and operates Verdin’s Farm and Garden Center in Laurens, a family-run business founded in 1992. Danny and Kim Verdin are members of Faith Free Presbyterian Church. In the Senate, Danny is the Chairman of the Senate Medical Affairs Committee and is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, a leadership position in which he has used to push for some of the most important conservative causes like protecting the unborn, providing lower cost, higher quality healthcare options, and rejecting experimental medical procedures that harm our children.
