Senator Scott to Chair Banking Subcommittee: Scott also receives subcommittee assignments for Finance and HELP committees

Washington – U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) has been named Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Subcommittee on Housing, Transportation, and Community Development. The subcommittee has jurisdiction over the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as well as the Federal Transit Administration. The top Democrat on the panel is Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey.

“I truly believe housing is a key component of the American Dream, and I look forward to our work on the subcommittee helping low-income and disadvantaged communities achieve success,” Scott said.
In addition to his chairmanship, Senator Scott will also serve on the Banking Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance, and Investment and the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Protection.
Scott has also received his subcommittee assignments for the Senate Finance Committee, which includes oversight over the Internal Revenue Service, and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP).
