Funds Support Non-Profit’s Health, Wellness and Social Programs for Seniors

GREENVILLE, SC – May 14, 2012 – Senior Action, the non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening Greenville County’s maturing population and their families by providing access to resources needed for physical, emotional and social well-being, has a few playing spots and sponsorships remaining for its fourth annual golf scramble tournament on May 21, 2012 at Fox Run Country Club in Simpsonville.

The tournament is open to the public for tourney participation, In addition to outstanding golf, the day’s program will also include a silent auction, refreshments and plenty of awards and prizes following completion of the tournament.

This is our fourth straight year that we have held the Senior Action Golf tournament, and the first time here at Fox Run Country Club, said Andrea Smith, Senior Action Executive Director and CEO.  Their beautiful facilities, challenging course, helpful staff and wonderful hospitality make this one of the area’s favorite tournaments, and we are delighted to bring our players to Simpsonville.

Known for its quiet elegance and challenging golf, the Senior Action Scramble Tournament has gained a reputation across the Upstate for an unequaled tournament experience and affordable value. As in years past, tournament registrations are only $80 per player, with individuals, pairs and foursomes welcome to register.  The $80 fee includes golfing privileges, a gift package, brunch and beverages, prizes, an award dinner, and access to the silent auction which follows the tournament.

In addition to the spectacular golf course, Fox Run also offers tournament participants access to a beautiful practice area and expansive putting green, and the club’s Tif-Eagle Putting Surfaces are considered perhaps the best and most competitive around. The tournament will begin with a 12 noon check-in and registration, followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start.  Awards, prizes and the silent auction and dinner will follow completion of the tournament in the Fox Run clubhouse.

Sponsorship packages remain at a variety of levels, Ms. Smith noted, including multiple levels for the tournament overall that include playing rights, plus sponsorships on carts, for the silent auction, and for gift packages for players.

Ms. Smith invited golf enthusiasts of all ages to register for the tournament while spaces still remain. Our focus is to bring together diverse members of the community to join with our senior members to enhance awareness and support for Senior Action’s efforts to end senior isolation, she added.  We have plenty of playing spots available this year to ensure a fun and leisurely golfing experience for all registrants.  Our focus is on making this the very best golf tournament that we possibly can.
