Senior League Baseball World Series begins July 28 in Easley

The Senior League Baseball World Series, a weeklong tournament featuring the most talented 13- to 16-year-old baseball players in the world, will be held July 28 – August 4, 2018 at J.B “Red” Owens Sports Complex in Easley, S.C.

This year’s tournament includes teams from the United States, Australia, Canada, Europe-Africa and Latin America, and will feature a double-elimination format with two brackets—one for U.S. teams and the other for international teams.

The U.S. bracket kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, as Southeast meets Central. International bracket begins play at 12:30 p.m. on July 28 when Canada takes on Europe-Africa. The U.S. and international bracket winners will meet in the championship game at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 4. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

For the second year, the Senior League Baseball World Series will host a Fan Fest at Old Market Square Amphitheater in downtown Easley to kick off the tournament’s festivities. The team walk will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 28.

The tournament also will host promotional nights during the weeklong event including:

  • Saturday, July 28 – Little League Night – Free entrance for all Little League players and their parents. Must show Little League patch at the Main Gate.
  • Monday, July 30 – Education Night – Free entrance for teachers and school staff members and their families. Must show school ID at the Main Gate.
  • Friday, August 3 – First Responders Night – Free entrance for first responders and their families. Must show work ID at the Main Gate.
  • Saturday, August 4 – ESPN & Military Appreciation Night – Free admission for military veterans and their families for the 6 p.m. championship game to be broadcast live on ESPN2. Must show military ID at the Main Gate.

Daily tickets and weeklong passes are available at the gate. Daily ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students, with children under 5 admitted at no charge. Weekly passes are $30 for adults and $15 for students, with children under 5 admitted free. For more tournament details, visit slbws.org.
