Series of flood recovery open houses happening across Richland County

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC – Residents affected by October’s devastating flooding can receive first-hand information about flood repairs, insurance, floodplain maps and more at a series of Flood Recovery Open Houses.

These open houses are designed to give home owners and businesses owners the opportunity to meet in person with representatives from several different local, state and federal agencies so they can receive the information and knowledge they need to recover, repair and rebuild. Representatives from the following agencies will be present at the open houses:

 

  • Richland County Officials
  • City of Columbia Officials
  • FEMA Disaster Relief
  • FEMA Flood Mitigation
  • SC Small Business Association
  • SC Emergency Management Division
  • Richland County Floodplain Management
  • Richland County Building Department
  • SC Department of Transportation
  • Richland County Roads and Drainage
  • SC Department of Natural Resources

The upcoming Flood Recovery Open Houses are set for:

 

  • 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Kathwood Baptist Church, 4900 Trenholm Road, Columbia
  • 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12 at Longleaf Middle School Cafeteria, 1160 Longreen Pkwy., Columbia
  • 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 16 at St. Andrews Park, 920 Beatty Road, Columbia
  • 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 23 at Council Chambers, Richland County Administration Building, 2020 Hampton St., Columbia
