Set Free partners with Tropical Grille to feed rescued children

Charit-a-Bowl program will raise money to care for children freed from slavery
Set Free, a global non-profit organization that focuses on rescuing children from slavery and providing fresh water and medical aid to Africa and India, is proud to announce that it will be partnering with Tropical Grille restaurants to help feed thousands of children rescued from slavery in South Asia.
With a shared belief that meeting physical needs opens the door to sharing deeper connections, Set Free and Tropical Grille have teamed up to launch the Charit-a-Bowl campaign.
Beginning on September 1, 2022, twelve of Tropical Grille’s South Carolina locations will give their customers an opportunity to add a $1 donation to each order. Funds raised through this program will allow Set Free to feed and care for enslaved children rescued from the region’s slate mines. While Set Free works to reunite rescued children with their families whenever possible, this process often takes time. For the time between rescue and reunification, Set Free provides food, shelter, and support for each child. Every dollar donated through the Charit-a-Bowl Project will feed one child for an entire day.
While both organizations are headquartered in Greenville, SC, the partnership grew more from a common purpose than close proximity. Tropical Grille’s leadership team proudly incorporates their faith in their business, building relationships and creating a welcoming sense of community in each of their restaurant locations.
“We are incredible grateful and honored to partner with Tropical Grille through this really special program,” said Set Free CEO Sarah Kelley. “After rescuing children out of slavery, food is our biggest expense. This program will be a huge boost in meeting this need while we continue our work to end child slavery.”
