Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands welcomes new board member, Katherine Watts

COLUMBIA, SC – Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands is honored to welcome Katherine Watts, LMSW, ACM to the Board of Directors.

Katherine Watts is the Director of Social Services at Lexington Medical Center. Katherine completed her undergraduate studies at Gardner-Webb University and her Masters in Social Work at the University of South Carolina. As Director of Social Services, Katherine oversees the delivery of patient-centered care through the coordination of social work activities. Katherine also serves as an adjunct professor of social work at the University of South Carolina, where she recently received the 2016 Alumni Award from the College of Social Work.

Kristian Bell is the President of the Board of Directors at Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands. She says, “We are excited to welcome Katherine to the STSM family. She brings a unique set of skills to our board and will help us to maintain Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands’ reputation of being one of the most efficient and effective nonprofits in South Carolina.”

 

Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands (STSM), formerly named Rape Crisis Network, is a private, nonprofit, United Way member agency committed to providing free support to survivors of sexual assault and abuse, including 24-hour crisis hotline, hospital accompaniment, court accompaniment, personal advocacy, and individual and group counseling, and education to the community to identify and prevent sexual violence.
