Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands welcomes Rebecca Lorick as new Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands (STSM) announced Rebecca Lorick has been named Executive Director. STSM, a SC non-profit serving five counties, is dedicated to advocating and supporting survivors of sexual violence and abuse and to educating the community to identify and prevent sexual violence.

Rebecca, a seasoned non-profit professional, brings to STSM more than 16 years of experience in serving vulnerable populations, particularly those who have experienced trauma. Utilizing her expertise in creating trauma-informed environments where individuals can achieve their greatest potential, Rebecca will advance the already transformational work performed by STSM.

Prior to joining STSM, Rebecca was the Director of My Sister’s Place Women’s Center and Lodge, operated by Catholic Charities of Baltimore. Respected as a subject matter expert on poverty, behavioral health, and trauma, Rebecca has been featured as a panelist at a variety of events including the University of Baltimore School of Law’s 2019 Urban Child Symposium. Along with years of non-profit experience, Rebecca brings her unending passion to serving those in need with compassion and excellence.

Rebecca adds, “I am honored to lead STSM where we provide life changing services in the community. I have an unending passion for giving a voice to those who often feel voiceless and to igniting positive change in people’s lives. I cannot think of a more meaningful way to serve our community.”

Rebecca holds an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Piedmont Technical College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Newberry College, and a Master of Public Administration degree from Capella University. Originally from Greenwood, SC, Rebecca is a proud mother of two children and enjoys spending time with family and her two pugs.

STSM welcomes Rebecca back to South Carolina and looks forward to making the Midlands a safer, healthier place under her leadership.
