Shades of Beauty program series draws inspiration from talents of local women

Richland Library is drawing inspiration from the culmination of Black History Month and the commencement of Women’s History Month. Please join us for an upcoming program series, titled Shades of Beauty, which is free and open to the public.
During the month of March, we’re showcasing the incredible talents and expertise of women in our community in the fields of medicine, business and the arts with three virtual discussions.
Shades of Beauty: Women & Mental Health
6:30 – 7:30 p.m., March 6
Learn ways to recognize anxiety, depression and other signs that may lead to concern with Counselors Shamiquia McPherson and Sharlianne Smith. They will also share self-care tips, such as how to cope with stress in the midst of a pandemic, and provide recommended mental health resources.
Shades of Beauty: Women, Wisdom & Wealth
6:30 – 7:30 p.m., March 13
Discover financial tips, simple savings, and credit and investing strategies to manage your money during the pandemic and beyond. President and CEO of KRJ Consulting, Karen Jenkins, will also share holistic tips to manage your mindset during these challenging times.
Shades of Beauty: The Celebration
6:30 – 7:30 p.m., March 20
Gather in a safe, supportive space as Jennifer Bartell and Cassie Premo Steele share poetry and guide participants through mindful discussion, journaling and quiet reflection. Think of this program as a time to nurture yourself and rekindle your light with the arrival of spring.
