Shameka Washington named principal of Goose Creek High; Rebecca Davis named interim at Sedgefield Middle

Shameka Washington, former principal at Sedgefield Middle, has been named the new principal of Goose Creek High and Rebecca Davis, former assistant principal at Sedgefield Middle, has been named Interim Principal at Sedgefield Middle. Both schools are located in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Washington and Davis will begin their new assignments on July 1 to prepare for the upcoming school year.

Washington has invested 14 years in public education, beginning her career at Bowman Middle High in Orangeburg County in 2003. In 2004, Washington joined Berkeley County as a teacher at Cross High
and, in 2006, served as an assistant principal at Westview Middle. Washington also served the district as an assistant principal at Goose Creek High and Sedgefield Middle Schools before being named
Principal of Sedgefield Middle in 2012.

Davis joined the Berkeley County School District as a middle school English Language Arts teacher in 2001, investing the past 16 years in public education. During the 2005-2006 school year, Davis worked with the Cainhoy Elementary/Middle School staff as a district instructional facilitator and most recently served as an assistant principal at Sedgefield Middle School since 2012.
