Sharon Bramlett Selected to Chair SC Bar Section

COLUMBIA, SC –  McNair Law Firm announced that Sharon C. Bramlett has been named Chair of the Corporate, Banking & Securities Law Section of the South Carolina Bar. 

The section’s goal is to promote understanding among bar members and the public about significant developments in corporate, banking and securities law.  The section sponsors continuing legal education seminars and reviews proposed legislation related to corporate, banking and securities law issues.

Sharon has served on the section council for three years, most recently as chair-elect.  She is also a member of the section’s Legal Opinion Ad Hoc Committee, responsible for drafting the State’s Third Party Legal Opinion Report, and a member of the Task Force on the Unauthorized Practice of Law in Commercial Transactions.  Sharon is special counsel in McNair’s Columbia office, where she practices in the areas of Banking/Finance, Consumer Law and Real Estate.  She represents lenders and borrowers in a range of commercial transactions involving both real and personal property, and regularly advises clients on licensure and compliance matters, including the South Carolina Consumer Protection Code and the Uniform Commercial Code.

In addition to her newest role with the South Carolina Bar, Sharon also serves as Chairman of the Council of Advisors on Consumer Credit, an advisory board to the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs, as the immediate past president of the Palmetto Center for Women and as state editor for national publications, Houselaw and Carlaw.
