Shawn Willis Named Shareholder

CHARLESTON, SC – Turner Padget proudly announces that Shawn R. Willis has been elected as a shareholder in the firm.  Mr. Willis is based in the firm’s Charleston office and practices primarily in the areas of commercial real estate, banking, taxation, and corporate law.  He represents purchasers, sellers, developers, lenders, landlords, tenants and property owners associations in counseling, transactions and related litigation.  Mr. Willis also handles business structuring and tax planning in connection with business entity formations, reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions.  Additionally, his practice includes representing owners in property tax appeals involving real estate.  Mr. Willis earned his B.A. degree from Furman University, his J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law.  He is very involved in his community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Chapter Community Associations Institute and the Florence Crittenton Programs of South Carolina, and is also a member of the Charleston County Board of Assessment appeals.  Mr. Willis is a 2014 graduate of the South Carolina Bar Leadership Academy, has received an AV “Preeminent” Peer Review Rating by Martindale Hubbell, and is listed as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for South Carolina.
