Shirley Johnson named to Silver Crescent Foundation Board

COLUMBIA, SC – April 7, 2009 – The Silver Crescent Foundation Board of Directors has elected Shirley Johnson to a three year term on its board.

Johnson is the manager of Corporate Compliance and Privacy for SCANA. She joined SCANA in 1999 as a senior auditor and has gone on to develop SCANA’s privacy program, currently overseeing its code of conducts & ethics and privacy programs to help ensure compliance by the parent company and all of its subsidiaries.

“We are pleased to have Shirley join our organization as we strive to promote manufacturing’s continued importance in South Carolina and encourage more young people to consider careers related to manufacturing,” said Silver Crescent Foundation Board Chair Gary Foster. “Her interest in young people and concern for the state’s future workforce tie in nicely with our mission and we welcome her on the board.”

Johnson graduated with honors in accounting from Troy State and completed her MBA from the University of South Carolina in 2007. She is a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant and Certified Information Privacy Professional. Prior to joining SCANA, she was a senior auditor for the Department of Defense’s Inspector General in Virginia.
