Shutt honored as a “Go To Lawyer”

December 21, 2020

Nekki Shutt, a founding partner of Burnette Shutt & McDaniel, has been recognized as a “Go To Lawyer” in business law in the State of South Carolina.

The award, from South Carolina Lawyers Weekly, identifies top attorneys across the state in select practice areas. The program, in its first year, began by honoring business attorneys.

For all practice areas, selection criteria include in-depth knowledge of the discipline and of case law, experience, and creative thinking abilities. Those making nominations also are asked to select attorneys to whom they would refer cases or call for assistance if needed.

Shutt is a certified specialist in South Carolina employment law who worked in a corporate human resources department before attending law school. She has been practicing law for 25 years. The combination allows her to offer clients both business and legal experience. Her practice includes employment law, civil litigation, and employee benefits under the Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). She also represents clients in qui tam whistleblower actions and helps resolve business disputes.
